On The Needles:(0:33)

Jasmin is finishing things off, she is working on the  Kapuzin hoodie, in Lisa Sousa's Hardtwist, in the St Louis Blues colorway. We were discussing if we should line the pockets with silk.

Gigi had heard about #oneadayinmay, and thought she was supposed to start on a new project every day. She tried it for a week and decided she does not like it and instead will knit a preemie hat every day instead. She thought she had heard about this on Prairie Girls, but their idea was not nearly as crazy.

Also, Rachel Roue from the former KnitCents podcast is podcasting  about insects, and her podcast is called What's the Buzz?

Gigi started a pair of socks on the first. She started the Braidsmaid #Behmalong. We gush about the House Special box from  Barmaids, and we love everything in it.  We especially love our custom scent ("In Stitches"), the "Danger" colorway from Abstract Fiber and the Fractal Danger pattern by Martina Behm.

Jasmin mentioned the cable needle by Leslie Wind. Jasmin is working on the  Austen Cowl by Margaret Skår. This is a kit from  Canon Hand Dyes.

Gigi started the Selvedge cardigan out of Interweave's Knit.Wear 2011 out of Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky.

Gigi started the Gansey socks. She likes the pattern a lot and it reminds her of a Hunter Hammersen pattern.

Mother Knows Best:(28:13)

This week we tell you to talk to stranger at fiber festivals.
We got to meet Sandy Wiseheart, the Tsock Tsarina, Syne Mitchell, Jennifer from Holiday Yarns, Damselfly Fibers.

The Sock Tsarina ( April 24th post) isn't doing well, read her blog here. Also Halos of Hope is having a drive called Just One.

When Knitting Attacks:(32:27)

Gigi spectacularly lost a game of yarn chicken to her Boneyard Shawl in the Urban Sunrise colorway by Abstract Fiber.

Jasmin has fallen into her "It needs more work" basket. She mentions Sterling Name Tapes, and ShuShu Styles  and our Grosgrain ribbon Tutorial, and was attacked by a zipper,
She mentions Caro Sheridan's blog, and the Mondo Cable cardigan.

Gigi knitted a good part of her Gansey sock at the DMV. When she came home she didn't like the 60 stitch cast on, and she messed up the patterning on the cuff. So she ripped it out and started over with 56 stitches.

Purloined:(41:34)

We heard an expression Gigi really liked from the Fiberthermometer podcast hosted by Moni/ Nahlinse: The UFO Liberation Front.

Review:(42:40)

This week we review Knitted Rabbits, by Val Piece

We think Boston Jen also needs to check out this book. We mention Angelina Ballerina. Jasmin is reminded of Susan B. Andersen's knitted toys.

And Sew On:(48:47)

Gigi has sewn a grosgrain ribbon onto the dress she is sewing for Genevieve. She mentions sewing gathering threads with handquilting thread, a technique she saw on It's Sew Easy.

Jasmin is thrilled with how her zippers are turning out. She used Caro Sheridan's technique.

She mentions Genevieve's Caterpillar cardigan. And she wants to sew in Knitmore-Along labels. Jasmin thinks  Sterling Name Tapes labels are a great deal if your can split them with your knitting group.

She mentions marking pens and pink Clover Chalk Pen.
