On The Needles:(0:33)

Gigi has finished a pair of socks of Neon Now socks for Jasmin.

Jasmin finished both sleeves on the Kapuzin hoodie, in Lisa Sousa's Hardtwist, in the St Louis Blues colorway, and she has added and extra inch to the sleeves.

Gigi has finished some preemie hats and cast on a new one.

Jasmin sewed in the set in sleeves on the   Barberry Cardigan (for Genevieve) out of Abstract Fiber Calder (in the "Saffron" colorway). #matchymatchyKAL #projectsweaterchest. She used the instructions for the collar on the Gramps cardigan. She used different techniques for inserting zippers.

She used a Dritz Knit Picker and the tutorial from Eunny Jang.  She also used a Hemstitch Needle to punch holes into the zipper tape. And she used a Brass Stiletto for punching holes into the zipper tape. Caro Sheridan wrote about it on her blog.  This is the method with blocking wires.

Also Threads magazine has an article about sewing zippers into knit fabric.

Jasmin cast on the Baby Wrap Cardigan by Churchmouse designs, for Beanzilla, out of Manos Del Uruguay Alegria and Cascade Heritage.

Gigi dug up and old sweater that didn't get finished, because the pattern had mistakes, and is wondering if she can finish it using instructions from Knit Wear Love.

Jasmin is working on her shawl out of the kit from Canon Hand Dyes. Jasmin is thinking of knitting it also in a long, self striping yarn. She is going to use Dungeons and Dragons Dice
to determine stripe sequence, with Neon Now Yarn.

Also, Forest on First has closed.

Mother Knows Best:(33:09)

This week we answer a question from the "What do you want to hear about?" thread in the forum
about weaving in ends in socks.

When Knitting Attacks:(37:28)

Gigi had issues at the post office. Initially, she didn't pick up enough stitches for the heel of the Neon Now socks and had to pull back the heel and and pick up enough stitches.

Jasmin has zipper drama.

Also, she was going to work on the Viajante #behmalong at Jasmin's house, and came without a pattern. It hadn't occurred to her to look on her iPad.

Review:(41:30)

This week we review Home and Away by Hannah Fettig.

Gigi mentions Coastal Knits:

And Sew On:(50:07)

Gigi fixed the covers on her Shmop.

Gigi sewed satin ribbon onto the seersucker dress she is sewing for Genevieve, and then pressed it and the seersucker pattern came through onto the ribbon, and was utterly unattractive. So she ripped it out again.

You probably won't catch us bungee jumping off the Stratosphere or diving with the sharks off the sandy shores of Hawaii (actually you might), but the adventure of submerging ourselves into an unknown city is priceless. We feel that we can build a deeper connection and understanding of our customers (advocates, peeps, close-knit tribe) as we get lost within their hometowns. This is exactly why we are taking two new cities for a spin this April, Pasadena and Nashville. Meet up with us April 17-19 in Pasadena at Vogue Knitting Live or meet up with us April 24-26 in Nashville at Stitches South. Seriously, stop by and let us know your favorite place to grab dinner, a drink, socialize, or even relax. We can't wait to see you there!

Jasmin has been working on the  Kapuzin hoodie, in Lisa Sousa's Hardtwist, in the St Louis Blues colorway, and is waxing poetic about how lovely the color is. She says the photos don't do the color justice.  She likes the tips for photography from Boston Jen and Knitting Butterflies, and the white balance on the Camera + app.

Gigi has knit a few preemie hats and she has washed and blocked a swatch for the 1000 Tulips shawl by Martina Behm #Behmalong, out of Rohrspatz und Wollmeise yarn.

We thought we had purloined a great idea from the Prairie Girls. We thought their plan was to cast on a new project a day.  Their idea did not have this crazy scope, they suggested casting on something new for Mothers' Day.

Lacking that, virtual knitting groups also fill a void. Jasmin mentions Emily's [of Knitting Butterflies] Google hangout.
Jasmin mentioned meeting Prairie Girl Danie from Prairie Girl Knits podcast there.

When Knitting Attacks:(43:32)

Gigi frogged most of a nearly finished  Plymouth Neon Now sock, because Jasmin likes her neon socks offset with black, and she managed to mess up the OMG heel on the Mystik Spiral socks.

Jasmin was repeatedly attacked by her Wee Envelope sweater, and it was entirely user error, and she thinks we need to review the Wee Ones book.

Jasmin commiserates about reduced knitting time with GreenTriangleGirl from the Playful Day podcast.

We like her endorsement of any book that Maggie Righetti wrote.
