Do you have a favorite fall scent? We know that Bar-Maids customers do. Nine years as a top seller, Betty Boo, is a mix of bitter orange and orchid. Sounds a bit floral – right? But Betty is NOT floral…she’s actually quite spicy.  Little Pumpkin has very devoted fans with its fresh from the oven top notes of buttery pumpkin not to be outdone by those middle notes of clove and allspice.  Hot Toddy, introduced last year, was such a hit that he’s back. Hot buttered rum – oh yum!  Queen’s Bun’s, a custom scent made exclusively for Jimmy Bean’s Wools last year can only be described as  cinnamon buns fresh from the oven and delicious enough for royalty.  If your local store doesn’t have these in stock, ask them to special order them for you. Otherwise, order on line at www.bar-maids.com

  1. My favorite new podcast for you to check out is knit.fm. It is done by Pam Allen and Hannah Fettig and is knitting basics for everyone. Their first podcast was about gauge and swatches. It is really educational and pleasant to listen to.

  2. I don't know about California, but for the record, knit headbands are totally in style among the teens here (Chicago area). They especially seem to favor this style in chunky or worsted weight: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/morning-walk-headband-earwarmer . They usually have a knit flower or bow on them, of the same color as the main headband, but sometimes with beads or sequins added. Come to think I'd it, this would actually make an excellent intro project.
