She travels….extensively. At times by wheels, sometimes by wing, other times by wave. She  travels while she sits and knits, creativity driving. Creativity inspired by mountain travel, memories, textures and color, small towns, 5th Avenues and spring flowers. She travels…..light. Light as the wind. With her backpack  she is prepared to hike mountain passes, climb the north face, and forge those rivers.  Next week, she will grab her Zucca on wheels and brave airport security flying to the next big city. One thing remains constant. She always travels with a Lo-Lo Body Bar. She knows while hiking, she won’t be bugged, and while in the city, dry skin doesn’t have a chance.

On The Needles:(0:34)

Gigi has started on the lace part of the Celaeno, by Romi Hill, and is enjoying knitting with beads. Jasmin has started the Eadon from our SPAKAL project. Gigi is knitting a pair of Vanilla socks for Grandpa Knitmore out of Opal.

Jasmin is working on the Antler cardigan for Genevieve. She is enjoying working with the cable needle ring from Leslie Wind. Gigi is making a pair of tube socks for Genevieve.

Gigi has started the Ginko Crescent Shawl, out of Supersock from Abstract Fiber in the "saffron" colorway. This pattern was suggested by the nice people from Zen Garden. Jasmin and Genevieve also like this color a lot and Jasmin is planning to knit the Wee Wildflower cardigan for Genevieve.

Events:(12:28)

We will be attending Wine and Wool, at the Retzlaff Winery, on Saturday, May 25th, in Livermore. This falls on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend

Mother Knows Best:(12:55)

We are answering a question from the "What do you want to hear about" thread about how to copy a sewing pattern, without cutting up the original pattern. We talk about Monsterpaper and Swedish Tracing Paper, sold by Birch Street Clothing

When Knitting Attacks:(17:38)

Jasmin is working on her Eadon, and had managed to mis-cross the left side of her cables. Gigi was planning to start the Wrapped in Leaves (Gigi called it Cedarleaf Shawl by mistake), out of Abstract Fiber's Supersock in the colorway Soar. Wrong gauge.

Purloined:(22:29)

This week we are purloining the photography section from Downcellar Studio, hosted by BostonJen
Jasmin talks about the Big Girl Jacket for Boo, and Gigi's funny pictures. She also mentions Jadecat's blog article on depth of field and settings.

Review:(31:01)

This week we are reviewing Men's Knits by Erika Knight, and Boyfriend Sweaters, by Bruce Weinstein.

And Sew On:(46:18)

Gigi is working on a re-binding a quilt. She sewed the strips she cut together, pressed and rolled them for storage.

  2. Hi-I'm not sure what episode it was in, but you mentioned ordering from zipperstop. I'd been putting off ordering some zippers and decided to check that site. Thanks! They had good prices and reasonable shipping to AK (a rarity!).
