On The Needles:(0:28)

Jasmin has been knitting away on the Cascade Cardigan, and loves it. It is themed after The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

This week Gigi has finished both sleeves of her Katje and is working on the bottom of the hoodie. On the Playful Stripes Cardigan, all that remains to be done is the finishing. We discuss alternate ways of finishing loose thread ends. Jasmin saw a possible solution on Clara Parkes' instagram feed.

Gigi will be finishing the second of the Magic Carpet Socks. She finished a preemie hat and put a few more rows on socks for Genevieve out of yarn left over from Papa Knitmore's socks.

In Stitches:(10:35)

Gigi wore her Cookie Monster Sweater (gift from a friend), her Cassidy, and her Katarina. She gifted her turquoise Ophidian do a friend

Jasmin wore her Mondo Cable Cardi, and is thinking of adding a zipper to it
Sam wore his Sharks hat, a mystery purple and blue hat, his Sharks Daybreak, and his dad's Kanteinen.

Brandon wore his hat, neckwarmer and wristers. Genevieve wore her pink cardi that her Auntie Aimless knit for her.

Mother Knows Best:(18:18)

This week we are answering a question from the "What do you want to hear about thread", about what shoes to wear with hand knit socks.

We mention Dansko and Sanita shoes

This week we Purloin "Todays Notion" from the twinneedle podcast, hosted by Tini and Maria Denmark. We love our Miracle Ironing Board Cover!

This week we review The Knitter's Curiosity Cabinet by Hunter Hammersen

  1. Greetings. Love the episode. I wanted to mention the Dansko Funky Knit shoes: the colors wouldn't go with every pair of hand knit socks, but they are so much fun. I have people complement them all the time.

  2. Have you looked at Tessa Ann buttons on esty? She has one called caddie caterpillar that is very cute.

  3. Have you thought of using shrinkydink material? It comes in opaque white and frosted, can be photocopied upon, and when you use a hole punch you can make button hole holes. It is available in do it yourself packets at big box craft stores in the jewelry or scrap booking aisles.

Some buttons handmade on etsy are made this way....
    Good luck!

  4. Another great podcast. I checked out the miracle ironing board cover and pinned it on pinterest. Now I won't forget.
    Shoes, buttons, yum!
