Abstract Fiber would like to invite you to join our yarn club!  We are excited to offer a 6 issue yarn club we’re calling One Skein/Two Skein.  Every other month we’ll send you a new exclusive yarn color and pattern.  We’ll do some solid colors, some colorways and will introduce some new luxurious yarns too. Each pattern will have flexibility for expansion, for example companion pieces, or multiple size and style options.  You’ll have the option to buy extra skeins just when you want them.  Spinners, we’ll have a fiber option for you too! For 2013, some of the colors have been chosen and we have four fabulous designers (Donna Arney, Sivia Harding, Judy Becker, and Kristin  Spurkland) on board so far.  Check out all the details at AbstractFiber.com

So, we’ve talked about the amazing Lo-Lo Bar by Bar Maids before, and I’m sure you’ve all tried, and ADORE, it, but did you know that they also make an intensive moisturizer for your (FACE)? Face Pudding by Bar Maids is as deliciously decadent as its name suggests. There’s one for every skin type, and it’s such a simple way to give your skin the moisture it craves all year long. We all try to ensure that we’re as beautiful on the outside as we are on the inside, so why not use a natural, safe product that provides the kind of results you’d expect from the makers of the Lo-Lo Bar? Give it a try! Your beautiful face will thank you.  I mean, it’s like they say, the proof is in the pudding!

On The Needles:(0:38)

Gigi has finished the front of her Bundi Cardigan, out of Jewel Hand Dyed. She is using one of the cocoknits tutorials for the shoulder shaping.Jasmin is working on the fourth sleeve of Andrew's Baseball Jersey.

Gigi is making progress on the Sister Joan Shawl. Jasmin finished the Houdini Socks for Andrew. She is thinking of using a new bind-off from The Sock Knitters Handbook that we reviewed last week.

Gigi has been excavating projects out of her UFO bin: A vanilla sock with a Channel Island cast on now has its mate finished. The No Tears Socks got frogged. And a pair of stripey socks that needed the second foot, is also finished.

Andrew has requested the Raglan-Sleeved Henley out of Knits Men Want.

Events:(17:50)

 We will be attending
- Pacific International Quilt Festival: Oct 11-14 2012
- Stitches West:  February 21-24 2013

Mother Knows Best:(18:27)

We talked about holiday knitting, and handmade gifts, and knowing your recipient. We included a list of criteria, and a formula for determining the value of a gift.

When Knitting Attacks:(23:42)

Gigi got attacked by her vanilla preemie hat. She also has had problems counting to three. She used the Sweet Tomato Heel tutorial to solve her heel problems

Purloined:(25:55)

This week we are purloining the "Confessions" and "Open Letters" thread from the Savvy Girls Podcast forum on Ravelry.
Also, we mention the Band Candy episode from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Review:(30:31)

This week we review Custom Crocheted Sweaters  by Dora Ohrenstein

 Straw into Gold:(37:37)

Jasmin is being challenged by her spinning. She is inspired by Abby Franquemont of Respect the Spindle and she is going to hang her spindles to decorate her house.

And Sew On:(39:33)

Gigi has registered for a quilting class at her local quilt store, and is thrilled. the plan is to sew a Cal King quilt for Jasmin and Andrew.

Jasmin has hopelessly fallen in love with a tiny vintage Singer sewing machine.
Also, she got a treasure trove of excellent fabric and a snap press from a friend.

Gigi is enchanted by hand sewing hems on linen napkins.
