She travels….extensively. At times by wheels, sometimes by wing, other times by wave. She  travels while she sits and knits, creativity driving. Creativity inspired by mountain travel, memories, textures and color, small towns, 5th Avenues and spring flowers. She travels…..light. Light as the wind. With her backpack  she is prepared to hike mountain passes, climb the north face, and forge those rivers.  Next week, she will grab her Zucca on wheels and brave airport security flying to the next big city. One thing remains constant. She always travels with a Lo-Lo Body Bar. She knows while hiking, she won’t be bugged, and while in the city, dry skin doesn’t have a chance.

On The Needles:(0:32)

Gigi has finished knitting the "Brainless Socks" for the KAL, and the Spice-man socks out of Opal. Jasmin is on the fourth color of the Boneyard shawl.

Gigi is knitting another Brainless sock  for Jasmin, also out of Opal. Jasmin has made progress on her Calligraphy cardigan.

Gigi is working on the Narcissus socks out of The Knitters Curiosity Cabinet, and decided to also knit the Narcissus wristers. 8 socks done, 12 still to go.

Summer of Lace and Beads: the yarn for Gigi's Lorelei came in. Jasmin plans to knit her Ophidian kit

Gigi was stash surfing and found a beaded kid from Swallow Hill Creations and on of their pattern booklets. She also found a pattern for beaded cuffs that she may add to her list of projects.

Mother Knows Best:(11:44)

This week we answer a question from the "What do you want to hear about?" thread, about what to use for applying beads. We prefer Oral B Superfloss. We mention Sivia Harding and Rosemary Hill's beading tutorial.

When Knitting Attacks:(16:38)

Gigi's spice man socks attacked her, as well as the Narcissus socks

Purloined:(19:20)

This week we are purloining
"New in the Queue", from the Yarniacs Podcast, hosted by Gail and Charlene

Gigi added the Sherezade shawl to her queue. Jasmin found  the Retreating Cardigan on Instagram, after seeing it at Stitches. She also added Nora's sweater

Review:( 23:29)

This week we review Shaping Shawls by Anna Dalvi

Tour de Fleece Training:(28:36)

This is week 6 of TdF training: support network

And Sew On:(30:59)

We finished a pile of sack gown with the help of our knitting group.

Gigi got inspired to sew for herself, and she was intrigued by the wrap dress on the cover of this month Threads magazine, and she mentioned the 4th of July sales at the local fabric stores

  1. HI, I haven't left a comment before, but here goes. I love your podcast, I like to listen to 3 or 4 (month's worth) all at once. And I listen to other podcasts the same way. I have discovered alot of them thru your podcast. I am wondering if you could put out a call for knitting, spinning, sewing podcasts from Finland. That is where my grandparents came from before the depression. I would love to hear them either in Finnish or English,or even videopodcasts. I have searched the Internet for ages and can't find any.
Oh, and Gigi, please don't call yourself an old lady. You are the same age as me, and I have never considered myself an old lady. That's not even my motherinlaw, she still dances and swims and walks her dogs. And she is 85. You sound pretty spry to me and look very good in your pics.
