You probably won't catch us bungee jumping off the Stratosphere or diving with the sharks off the sandy shores of Hawaii (actually you might), but the adventure of submerging ourselves into an unknown city is priceless. We feel that we can build a deeper connection and understanding of our customers (advocates, peeps, close-knit tribe) as we get lost within their hometowns. This is exactly why we are taking two new cities for a spin this April, Pasadena and Nashville. Meet up with us April 17-19 in Pasadena at Vogue Knitting Live or meet up with us April 24-26 in Nashville at Stitches South. Seriously, stop by and let us know your favorite place to grab dinner, a drink, socialize, or even relax. We can't wait to see you there!

 On The Needles:(0:34)

1 minute health update.

We are going to Black Sheep!
Gigi is knitting Vanilla socks out of Van Gogh Opal, using the tubular cast on from  Lucy Neatby's Cool Socks Warm Feet,  or the Knitting Sock Techniques 2 DVD. Gigi is knitting another pair of socks out of Regia, with the same tubular cast on #operationsockdrawer.

Jasmin has finished the Envelope pullover out of yarn from Berry Colorful Yarnings, by Ysolda Teague. It still needs to be blocked. She mentions Amy Herzog's Knit Wear Love.

Gigi is working on some more socks:  Plymouth Neon Now for Jasmin, with some black stripes, which makes the Neon even louder. Colors need to be set, Jasmin mentions the citric acid treatment.

Jasmin picked up the Kapuzin Hoodie again, and she is loving the color of the yarn.

Gigi is working on the Mystik Spiral socks again.

In Stitches:(17:12)

Gigi has worn her Icarus shawl twice, the gray Citron with the lovely beaded bind off, the Swallowtail shawl.

Jasmin mentions the Sarah Brown Shawl from Cheryl Oberle's Folk Shawls.

Genevieve has been wearing her Colorblock, the Squirrel sweater, the Duck sweater, and the Annie and the Swiss Cheese sweater, and a hope chest sweater, designed by Ann Norling, and the Mini Mondo Cable cardigan.

Jasmin thinks she should be wearing her Breezy cardigan in this weather.

Events:(24:34)

Fleeces, Food and Fun at the Retzlaff Winery, June 6th
We are also planning to attend the Black Sheep Gathering in Oregon.

Jasmin mentions that we released a new interview with the amazing Galina Khmeleva. This is the second interview with her. Also listen to our first amazing interview with her.

Outlander Season 1, Volume 1 is now available on Amazon

Mother Knows Best:(39:34)

This week we talk about taking advantage of social knitting opportunities in your area.
Lacking that, virtual knitting groups also fill a void. Jasmin mentions Emily's [of Knitting Butterflies] Google hangout.
Jasmin mentioned meeting Prairie Girl Danie from Prairie Girl Knits podcast there.

When Knitting Attacks:(43:32)

Gigi frogged most of a nearly finished  Plymouth Neon Now sock, because Jasmin likes her neon socks offset with black, and she managed to mess up the OMG heel on the Mystik Spiral socks.

Jasmin was repeatedly attacked by her Wee Envelope sweater, and it was entirely user error, and she thinks we need to review the Wee Ones book.

Jasmin commiserates about reduced knitting time with GreenTriangleGirl from the Playful Day podcast.

Review:(48:52)

This week we review Magpies, Homebodies, and Nomads, by Cirilia Rose

We like her endorsement of any book that Maggie Righetti wrote.

Straw Into Gold:(57:22)

Gigi finished spinning the first third of a superwash braid on her wheel.  She seems to have fallen off the spinning 15 min every day wagon.
