Akerworks Logo 2012-1223_zps4og3eqpq Those of you familiar with Akerworks™ products may already know Akerworks™ bobbins were designed by an engineer and an architect to make spinning enjoyable and relaxing. You also may know that you can choose among twenty colors and six styles for the 3D-printed whorls—or that the bobbins break down for easy travel and storage. But… did you know that Akerworks™ bobbins hold more fiber, for most styles, than the related manufacturer’s bobbin? Akerworks™: We like making things.

Named for the Three Fates and the Three Graces in Greek Mythology, Infinite Twist Fates and Graces are three-packs of cake-dyed gradient yarns. They are sisters (from the same dye lot), but not triplets. Each cake is 200 yards long, and knits up into five unique stripes. Variegated, speckled, or semi-solid, each stripe brings something new to your needles. To showcase these gorgeous gradients, Infinite Twist has worked up an easy Bias Scarf Kit featuring Fates and Graces. If you can k2tog and m1, you can knit this scarf!Perfect for purse- or travel-knitting, and available in the Infinite Twist shop.

Gigi is working on the body of the Sidewalk sweater. Hem is done and bound off! And the neckline is half picked up.

Jasmin will link to the Knit Girllls episode where the girls talk about Stash Dash. (TBD, not up yet)

Jasmin needs to redo the crochet edging and do the grosgrain ribbon and buttons on the Sideways Dude cardigan out of Dragonfly Fibres Traveller in “Horton Hears a Who”.

Gigi is working on another Bias Cowl out of yarn by the Neighborhood Fiber Company.  It is perfect for watching tv,  and nap time. She got a lot done during knitting group. And there isn't a lot a lot of yarn left.

Jasmin is working on the hood on the Lionheart sweater for Rex out of Abstract Fiber Calder in “diversity” and “saffron”. She is thinking about knitting Joji Locatelli's Heartstrings next.

Jasmin has swatched for the Hei Hei sweater for Rex out of Knitmona DK.

Gigi knitted more on the Beastkeeper shawl  with yarn from Twisted Owl Fiber Studio. The first set of colors is done. She is really enjoying the colors.

Jasmin has finished the sleeves on the Hearthstone pullover by Ysolda Teague in Twisted Owl “Eye Searing Pink”.

Gigi is working on the instant coffee socks by C.C. Almon, has finished the foot of the second sock. She is almost done with the second heel.

Genevieve and Jasmin have been discussing the Te Fiti sweater.

Gigi has finished knitting a preemie beanie, and is working on another preemie hat.

In Stitches:(21:16)
Conquering Mt. Knitmore. Gigi is washing sweaters for storage.  She has 15  sweaters done,  and 3 more to go. When she is done washing, she wants to take a Gleener to them.

She also wants to block her stash of finished shawls. She also pulled out her Where is the Opaque?
by Sally Melville, who wrote The Knit Stitch.

Purloined:(34:24)
This week we purloin "Netflix and Knit" from the Backstage Knitting Podcast hosted by Bethany and Anna. We mention: Great British Bake-Off , Hercules and the Handmaids Tale

Genevieve likes the Rogers and Hammerstein Cinderella

Review:(45:06)
This week we review New Heights in Lace Knitting, by Andrea Jurgrau

Tour de Fleece Training:(49:43)
Week 2:
Gigi has a Loop batt that she wants to use. Jasmin suggests spinning it as a single. She suggests reading the article in Ply magazine. Also, Jasmin has been spinning on the Device to practice. Join Team Sasquatch.
And Sew On:(54:03)
Gigi is planning to sew preemie shirts. She downloaded patterns from twentyfiveandfour.com (patterns range from 1lb to about 7.5 lbs in seven different sizes), printed them out and made plastic templates.

Copied patterns on them, and cut them with the all purpose scissors. She can't cut around them with rotary cutters, curves are too tight. She is thinking of getting some interfacing to use as a re-useable pattern . Sturdy, and somewhat sheer. And she can pin into it.
