There comes a time in any story when the arc draws down to the ending. Thus it is with Purlescence Yarns and its story. We began in 2006 with the idea of creating community around beautiful crafting supplies and teaching new skills. We feel that we have achieved that goal. It is now time for us to retire and move on to our next adventure.
On August 28, 2016 we will have our final tea and crafting in the living room. Come and join us if you can, in saying farewell to a piece of our shared history and take a tea cup to remember us.
We have been proud to support the Knitmore Girls since the beginning. We've created community together and supported wonderful things like Halos of Hope and 25,000 Tuques. Keep the magic and keep on crafting.
With love,
Kaye and Sandi Luck

On The Needles:(0:31)

Jasmin has excavated her Bifrost scarf kit from Infinite Twist and is enjoying it tremendously. She mentions the Clasped Weft Join tutorial from BostonJen.

Gigi has finished the tubes on Sam's socks and is working on the heels.
She has been weaving ends on old projects.

Jasmin has picked up the Gone Astray and had to order beads online and is pleased as punch to finally have found the perfect beads for doing the sheep.

She is also spinning for the Hiro sweaters and is talking about swatching for color.

Gigi has finally gotten around to setting the colors on two pairs of Fluoromania socks using the Citric Acid setting technique

Jasmin is turning the facing on the Anna cardigan. Genevieve has been wearing the Elsa sweater all the time, and Jasmin is so pleased that she likes it so much. She mentions the flowers on Anne Podlesak's designs. She also mentions Eunny Jang's blog. She mentions Genevieve's grey Playful Stripes, and the Striped cowl.

Gigi has been knitting preemie hats and is trying to use little bits of leftover yarn with the Clover pom pom maker.

Jasmin has been working on Live Long and Prosper yarn in the Smooth Operator Socks . Using a matching custom Star Trek Erin Lane Bag.

She is working on the I-cord edging on the Spock sweater for Stashdash
She is also knitting dual facings on Carli for zipper facings. This technique is out of the Big Book of Knitting. #stashdash2016 #teamcuteknitter

Mother Knows Best:(27:16)

This week we answer a question out of the "What do you want to hear about?" thread on the Knitmore Girls forum, about spinning on a Woolee Winder.

We mention the Akerworks bobbins. Jasmin likes those bobbins also on her Hansen Mini Spinner.

Review:(35:58)

This week we are reviewing You Can Knit That, by Amy Herzog

She has also written Knit to Flatter, and Knit Wear Love, which we both think are amazing.
She also offers the Custom Fit service and she has three Craftsy classes!
Jasmin mentions Lily Chin.

Straw into Gold:(43:23)

Gigi is still plugging away at her two pounds of her Tour de Fleece Corriedale, but since she can only spin during naptime, progress is slow. There are little fingers that like to  explore things with wheels.

And Sew On:(51:12)

Gigi finished the Advents Calendar stockings. She shortened straps on a dress for Genevieve, and she dug out a top so she can quilt it.
