You probably attend an event at least once a year. Sometimes events are all about shopping, but more often than not, events are a combination of shopping and education. When attending a show that combines classes and market place, shopping literally becomes dashes between classes. Time is short that your plan includes the necessary pit stop (crossing your fingers for short lines) and visits to my favorite or new vendor spot.
As a vendor, we do our best to bring the right amount of scents and products. We are thrilled when we have the product or scent you are looking for, but sometimes there is a sudden run on your favorite scent or product and the person in front of you just bought the last one. Being left wanting after waiting just stinks!
Wait and want no more because we've created the Easy Peasy Product Reservation. It's so simple and fast, you’ll LOVE the experience!
Go to our web site: www.Bar-Maids.com for directions, and we'll even text you a reminder during the event!

Knitcircus Yarns is pleased as punch to present the Gradient Yoke Sweater Pattern, designed by Amy Detjen. This sweater gives you an exciting and unusual construction; a top-down v-neck raglan. Designed to make the most of a self-striping handpaint, the yoke uses just one skein of gradient yarn, surrounded by coordinating kettle dyes for the body and sleeves. Let our yarn do the color changes for you!

On The Needles:(0:38)

Jasmin finished a cashmere hat for Andrew that she had started two years ago, and she posted the pattern on her pattern page. And she cast on a new one immediately.  She made a number of hats for him out of Noro Kureyon.

She watched a video on Facebook about an organization (25,000 tuques) welcoming Syrian refugees with hats. There are people who are cold, and they need hats. We will be knitting hats for them, and we'll be doing some prizes for this as well. This is not about politics. This is about keeping people warm. (Official hashtags: #25000tuques #NewHomeNewHat)

Purlescence Yarns will be a collection point for the 25,000 Toques project.
She mentions the Knotty Girls, and Halos of Hope. You can enter your hats here (and on instagram using the hashtags) for prizes!

Jasmin has started another sweater for Rex, she is knitting the Landon pullover, designed by Katya Frankel, out of Lisa Souza BFL. (There are discount codes from Lisa Souza and Katya Frankel on the project page.) She just finished the Playdate cardigan from Tincanknits.

Gigi is working on the second heel of her Citrus socks out of trekking. Also, she started the Squircle socks. Inspired by Dr. Gemma, she picked up the Scandinavian Pattern socks, from the The Little Box of Socks.

She mentions that we had the good fortune to take classes form Galina, Lily Chin, Rick Mondragon, Judith MacKenzie, the Philosopher's . She mentions their Video, book, and kits.

Jasmin finished the Kobiyashi Maru cardigan. Jasmin mentions the Exploding Tardis and the Death Star yarn bowls.

She did a Citric Acid Jelly Roll soak of the Polydactyl kit she put together (with help) from Black Trillium.

Gigi finished three preemie hats and she cast on the Perennial hat out of some leftover Malabrigo.

Jasmin cast on the Baby Wrap cardigan by ChurchmouseYarn, out of  FabFunkyFibres  in the "Spock" colorway.

Mother Knows Best:(28:36)

This week we answer a question from the "What do you want to hear about?" thread in the forum
about pet fur on knitting.
We recommend the Magic Lint Brushes, and the one with lint brush.

We really, really like the Gleener and the Gleener on the Go. A lot.

Let us know how you deal with pet hair and your projects.

When Knitting Attacks:(33:56)

Gigi's knitting math attacked her and she had three tries to start a cowl out of hand spun yarn.
One of her knitting needles went AWOL while she was knitting in bed.

Gigi tinked back a long, long row on her Viajante

Purloined:(36:12)

We are purloining "Something I really like", from Dr Gemma. Family book club! She mentions the Vorkosigan Saga. We are reading/listerning to The Martian, for Amazon Kindle with the Audible tie-in. It's AMAZING.

We are also purloining "what we're reading" from the Knit Girllls videocast.

Review:(45:03)

This week we review : Sequence Knitting, by Cecilia Campochiaro

Holidays with the Knitmores:(54:43)

Jasmin's theme for 2016 will be management.

Gigi is planning hoping to use finish UFO's, sew out of her stash, and quilt.  She is still looking for a concise term.

Post your 2016 themes here!

Straw Into Gold:(58:04)

Inspired by Dr Gemma, Gigi dug out a Schacht spindle, and finished spinning the rest of the fiber that she had started.  And what does one do with small amounts of yarn?

  1. Reading the Vorkosigan books as they were published was great fun and Cordelia is my absolute favorite character. Mile's manic temperament always carried me along.
I've enjoyed listening your podcast as I knit.
