You mentioned Portuguese knitting in the Mother Knows Best section. I live in Portugal and while many of the ladies here do wrap their yarn around their neck, many of them do not. Instead they use a safty pin attatched at their shoulder to hold the yarn instead of around the neck. Many people here also use a set of needles that look like crochet hooks instead of needles like are used in the US. Also they do work up a lot of speed while knitting. If you would like to see the technique in person here is a link to the video I found on You Tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzfYS9_t27kAurorahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16202328848177667613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7060138301733073544.post-39045361355466550622010-11-16T20:10:39.799-08:002010-11-16T20:10:39.799-08:00Jasmin, I do my purl like you too! I still purl this way because it saves so much time. Thanks for the workaround for the k2tog decrease.

JeanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7060138301733073544.post-55569391709000752152010-11-15T04:37:57.570-08:002010-11-15T04:37:57.570-08:00I must say as a new knitter that was the first tim...I must say as a new knitter that was the first time I have seen a visual on the throwing vs. picking. I listened twice. Am I missing something? Mother Knows Best was about beads, buying, trying the yarn in the hole etc. I would love to hear the topice mentioned though.
