Most of my friends were either still in their "club-in" lifestyle or had moved away. I found a group and over the years it has grown. I truly cherish those ladies. They keep me sane.Krishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01685188032844582716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7060138301733073544.post-60532673350109590612011-06-24T16:15:54.399-07:002011-06-24T16:15:54.399-07:00I have belonged to knitting groups, spinning group...I have belonged to knitting groups, spinning groups and quilting groups. All for the same reasons: to interact with creative interesting people who like many of the same things that I like. I never could manage the mom/toddler groups when the kids were little, I just didn't have enough in common with most of the adults there!

We have a spinning/knitting/crafting group going in our little corner of Maine and I look forward to it ever so much. Great talk, lots of laughter, good food, good beverage, and I can always learn something from everyone else.Ninahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08049138454278248785noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7060138301733073544.post-30249425156058595972011-06-22T20:45:45.509-07:002011-06-22T20:45:45.509-07:00I joined a knitting group because I was a displace...I joined a knitting group because I was a displaced mom. I went from working as an allied health educator to moving the entire family from OH to PA for my DH's job, which he took to locate services for our autistic son. I felt out of place and all alone. So, I joined a knitting group to gain adult interaction, actually get some knitting done, and so that for 2 hours I didn't have to think about all of the challenges that come with a special needs child. I got to shut out all of my titles: mom, wife, domestic goddess.. and just be a knitter.

Unfortunately, my DS is having some challenges and DH is working long hours, so I've bee MIA from group for a yr. :(

I want more than anything to get back into group. Until I can, I listen to podcasts, socialize on Rav and Twitter, and knit my bit at home. :)Knit Purl Gurlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11157078138154867643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7060138301733073544.post-49407080671524345382011-06-21T10:45:39.192-07:002011-06-21T10:45:39.192-07:00Ooo, I like that Goodale! It's adorable. What ...Ooo, I like that Goodale! It's adorable. What is the picture at the very beginning of hte post? It looks like a CMF handspun, but I'm not sure. Enjoy your hiatus, ladies! Missed you during Retzlaff; they re-scheduled it for the day of our Big Bout so I couldn't come for the first time in years! But we won, so that's happy. :DTikabellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05287053119332530699noreply@blogger.com
