On The Needles:(0:33)

Gigi has finished two preemie hats with a leaf at the end of the I-cord at the top of the hat.
Jasmin has a FO, she finished  Molly Hat by Alana Dakos, in  Lisa Souza Supersport, and she added a beaded snowflake. Jasmin's modifications are in her project page.

Gigi has bound off the Braidsmaid that she has knitted out of laceweight.

Jasmin is working on the Coronation Cardigan, out of Berry Colorful Yarnings. She mentions doing a provisional crocheted cast on that we learned from Lucy Neatby, and she had learned the hook-less version from Tikabelle of the former Gives Good Knit podcast.

Jasmin is enjoying the rhythm of the color chart. She mentions the Philosophers Wool technique she uses.

Gigi cast on a vanilla sock out of Meilenweit and is autopiloting. Jasmin thinks Ann Budd's collection should be on everyones shelves: The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns, Knitter's Handy Book of Top-Down Sweaters, and Knitter's Handy Book of Top-Down Sweaters.

Gigi excavated the Selvedges Cardigan by Amy Christophers (from her UFO bin) that she is knitting out of Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky. Jasmin blocked the Star Trekkies cardigan  for Rex.

Gigi also dug out her Viajante, and only has the beaded lace edge left for it to be finished as well.
She also found a Skein of Invictus Yarns that she had purchased at the Interweave Knitting Lab in San Mateo. She says Jasmin's sock boredom has rubbed off on her, and she is bored now with the contents of her sock drawer as well. Which means, she needs to knit new socks for herself.

Unicorn Fibers sent us woolwash and fiberwash. Jasmin contacted them and sent a follow up email about the mishap with her Playful Stripes cardigan. She used Unicorn Fibre Beyond Clean Wash to get salad dressing and tomato stains out of white yoke of the beloved, brand new Elsa sweater.  She put it to dry on the OXO Good Grips Folding Sweater Dryer

In Stitches:(25:40)

Gigi wore her Katarina and loves it as much as ever. She regularly wears her Knitmore cowl, out of Abstract Fiber in the Knitmore colorway. Also, she wore two v-neck sweaters that Jasmin thinks may have been an Ann Norling pattern. She also wore her Mondo Cable Pulli, and mentions the the Mondo Cable Cardi, and the second Mondo Cable Cardi, that Jasmin knitted.

Jasmin wore her Carli cardigan by Cocoknits, and her garter yoke cardigan. And she announces that she really needs to knit herself a Mama Vertebrae.

Genevieve wore the Elsa cardigan, the Elsa hat, her Very Hungry Caterpillar sweater, and Bumble hat from C.C. from the Geeky Girls Knit podcast knit for her.

Genevieve also wore her Wonderful Wallaby sweater.

Rex wore the Little Baby Sweater  from Purl Soho.

Events:(28:24)

We are planning to attend the Pajamma Jammie Jam at Purlescence Yarns on Black Friday at 6am.
Some of our other sponsors are also having special sales this weekend, and we will pass on any information that comes our way.

Also, the Grinchalong will start December 1st and runs until TBD.  Mother Knows Best:(33:25)

We have a followup of last weeks ironing discussion. Paula, of the Knitting Pipeline podcast talked at length about irons in episode 229.

And today's Mother Knows Best is: It's the thought that counts.
Gigi mentions Star Wars snowflakes.

When Knitting Attacks:(35:55)

Gigi thought it would have been more helpful if she had used locking stitch markers while she was knitting, instead of figuring out afterwards where decreases were missing. The "at the same time" also got her.

She picked up some deep stash yarn and started socks. Turns out, there was damage and the yarn keeped tearing.

Purloined:(41:13)

This week we are purloining "What a Crock!" from the Actually Knitting podcast, hosted by Michelle.

Jasmin is also very fond of her Electric Pressure Cooker, the America's Test Kitchen Pressure Cooker Perfection cookbook, and her KitchenAid Food Processor.

Review:(45:33)

This week we review Modern Lopi, by Lars Rains

And Sew On:(58:56)

Gigi mended Sam's jeans using the intermittent zig zag stitch on her sewing machine.

You probably attend an event at least once a year. Sometimes events are all about shopping, but more often than not, events are a combination of shopping and education. When attending a show that combines classes and market place, shopping literally becomes dashes between classes. Time is short that your plan includes the necessary pit stop (crossing your fingers for short lines) and visits to my favorite or new vendor spot.

As a vendor, we do our best to bring the right amount of scents and products. We are thrilled when we have the product or scent you are looking for, but sometimes there is a sudden run on your favorite scent or product and the person in front of you just bought the last one. Being left wanting after waiting just stinks!

Wait and want no more because we've created the Easy Peasy Product Reservation. It's so simple and fast, you’ll LOVE the experience!

Go to our web site: www.Bar-Maids.com for directions, and we'll even text you a reminder during the event!

Gigi has pulled two different Skews socks off the needles, until she found a yarn that she liked the effect of.

Review:(42:50)

This week we review 60 Quick Cowls, by Cascade Yarns

Gigi mended a commercial merino sweater for Sam, using sewing thread and duplicate stitch and is very pleased with the result. Jasmin talks about the decorative mending class that Sivia Harding teaches.

Gigi mentions hearing about Clover Double Sided Basting Tape for setting in zippers, but can't vouch for how that would work. Also She watched "It's Sew Easy", and Angela Wolf showed how to do a peplum on a sewn garment, using the Slash and Spread method. Gigi thinks this will also work for designing knit wear.

You probably attend an event at least once a year.  Whether you stay pretty close to home or travel across the country, come rain or shine we love to connect with you!
Sometimes events are all about shopping, but more often than not, events are a combination of shopping and education. When attending a show that combines classes and market place, shopping literally becomes dashes between classes. Time is short so my dash plan includes the necessary pit stop and (keeping my fingers crossed for short lines) visits to my favorite or new vendor spot.

As a vendor, we do our best to bring the right amount of scents and products. We are thrilled when we have the product or scent you are looking for, but sometimes the unexpected happens, like there is a sudden run on "fill in your favorite scent or product here" and the person in front of you just bought the last one. Being left wanting after waiting just sucks!
It's awesome when a product or scent become wildly popular but we are crushed when we have to serve disappointment because there is no more.

Wait and want no more because we've created the Easy Peasy Product Reservation. It's so simple, even a two year old German Shepard can do it! (OK.  Maybe not.)

Step One: Go to our web site: www.Bar-Maids.com
Step Two: Click on the, "Events," tab
Step Three: A pop up asking if you would like to reserve product may appear, or click on "Easy Peasy Reservation Reserve in Advance or Take a Chance"
Step Four: You are taken to an awesome world of, "Survey Monkey" and all you have to do is make your reservation.  Done.

We'll even text you a reminder during the event!

Sincerely,

Lo-Lo
