On The Needles:(0:34)

Jasmin has been knitting on the Baby Vertebrae, a sweater out of  rainbow and sky colored yarn  in the colorway "Nothing says Screw You like Rainbows in a Cloudy Sky". Jasmin calls it "Nothing says 'I love you' like a rainbow", from White Birch Fiber Arts. She mentions The Twinset talking about knitting for babies.

Gigi has not measured her swatch for the Viajante, and needs some autopilot knitting, so she dug up some Regia sock yarn that she bought at Stitches West 2014. She cast it on and is knitting socks for #operationsockdrawer.

Jasmin is working on a Kapuzin sweater,  out of Lisa Souza yarn in color that works for Genevieve and Beanzilla as well. So she bought yarn in her Hardtwist, in the St Louis Blues colorway.

Jasmin talks about using locking stitch markers from toplittlerock and christianery on ebay, and  Clover Locking Ring Markers.

She is talking about Leslie Wind and her thumb ring cable needle and darning needles.

Gigi has finished the band on the Mini Waters Edge, and thinks she should lengthen the sleeves.

Genevieve and Jasmin blocked the Barberry Cardigan (for Genevieve) out of Abstract Fiber Calder (in the "Saffron" colorway). #matchymatchyKAL #projectsweaterchest. They are using Knitter's Blocks and Handworks Blocking wires

Jasmin loves her Scünci steamer.

Gigi is making preemie hats out of leftover sock yarn, and is trying to knit a hat a week, an idea that she purloined from C.C. of the Geeky Girls.

Events:(23:09)

Fleeces, Food and Fun at the Retzlaff Winery, June 6th

Jasmin says that Outlander Season 1, Volume 1 is now available on Amazon

Mother Knows Best:(30:43)

This week we answer questions out of the "What do you want to hear about?" thread about
summer knitting. Jasmin loves knitting shells out of Tess Yarns microfiber ribbon.

We are excited to have another Summer of Lace and Beads.

Jasmin talks about the alpaca and cotton boucle pie shawl she knit a few years ago and mentions the Citron.

Gigi still wants to knit the Shipwreck Shawl.

When Knitting Attacks:(39:45)

Jasmin has been working on the Kapuzin hoodie and it has many more cables than the picture. Also, she bought a zipper for the Barberry Cardigan and the zipper she bought for it will not work.

Review:(43:02)

This week we review Once Upon A Knit by Genevieve Miller

Jasmin thinks that Ysolda Teague's hooded cape is better designed.
Gigi likes the Knit Your Love shawl with hears from Martina Behm.

Straw Into Gold:(53:27)

Gigi has been trying to spin about fifteen minutes every day, and she spins most days. She is spinning a pretty fiber with her Jenkins Turkish Lark.

And Sew On:(55:25)

Gigi finished the Monkey nightgown Butterick Patterns B4910.

She had seen Quilts at the Pacific International Quilt Show at the Santa Clara Convention Center. These quilts positively glow from the inside. Radiant Landscapes

Gigi is most displeased with the quilting class she took. Quilts never get finished in one class session. Offering to have people come back and pay more to get the promised class content feels like bait and switch.

On The Needles:(0:36)

Jasmin started a Baby Vertebrae, and is blaming C.C. from the Geeky Girls for the inspiration, because it also comes in an adult size.  Jasmin bought the rainbow and sky colored yarn  in the colorway "Nothing says Screw You like Rainbows in a Cloudy Sky" . Jasmin calls it "Nothing says 'I love you' like a rainbow", from White Birch Fiber Arts who shared a booth with Canon Hand Dyes.

Jasmin is thinking of knitting a Mama Vertebrae for herself, and also contemplated knitting a Baby Surprise Jacket.

Also Genevieve requested buttons to be re-sewn onto her Very Hungry Caterpillar cardigan, and the sleeves need to be lengthened, too.

Gigi  is swatching for the Viajante in Kilimanjaro yarn from Miss Babs, in the Drift in a Dream colorway.

Random Piece of information: Elevation of Mount Kilimanjaro is 19,340 feet (5,895 meters).

Jasmin has swatched for matching Kapuzin sweaters,  out of Lisa Souza yarn in color that works for Genevieve and Beanzilla as well. So she bought yarn in her Hardtwist, in the St Louis Blues colorway.

Gigi wonders about the Cassidy and Jasmin mentions a hood down hoodie from Cocoknits.

Gigi cast on adult safari socks from Sockoholic Yarn by Knitters Brewing company in the Tiger Stripe colorway.

Jasmin making progress on her Calligraphy cardigan, but the very sharp Chiagoo lace needles like to poke her.

Gigi picked up the Mini Waters Edge up again, and is working on the edging.

Mother Knows Best:(39:29)

This week we answer a question about patterns from pre-podcasting days. We mention the Einstein   Jacket out of  The Knitting Experience Book 1: The Knit Stitch,
Also, the German podcast Stadt, Land, Wolle is mentioned.

Jasmin knitted a lot of The Amazing Neckdown Raglan (which is actually called "The Incredible, Custom Fit Raglan Sweater").  Jasmin laments that the Ann Norling Fruit hats are not available through Ravelry. Jasmin knitted a number of baby sweaters from Quick Baby Knits, by Debbi Bliss, and Gigi's Vanilla socks started out from a Cottage Creations pattern. Jasmin talks about a Jo Sharp sweater.

When Knitting Attacks:(49:04)

Gigi was attacked by a project from Area 51. She pulled a fair isle sock from the The Little Box of Socks back to the heel, because she couldn't figure out where in the pattern she was
She had also managed to knit a pair of the Dianthus Superbus socks from the The Knitters Curiosity Cabinet Volume I with different size needles, and so cast on another pair with 80 stitches, which is much too large. She cast on again out of a lovely Steven Be yarn, but the yarn didn't want to be socks.

Jasmin was looking for yarn to knit for Genevieve and Beanzilla in the Lisa Souza Booth. She mentions the Gramps sweater by Kate Oats,  that Alana Dakos just had finished. She also mentions the Kangaroo hoodie (actually called the "Wonderful Wallaby". The Kapuzin sweater is the one she will make for both kids.

Gigi had been working on the Trouvaille out of handspun yarn, but didn't care for the way the yarn felt while she was knitting. Jasmin suggested fulling the yarn to allow it to bloom, so Gigi frogged the shawl to reknit it after fulling.

We mention wool waulking in Outlander.
Gigi mentions an Episode of The Worst Jobs in History .

Review:(1:01:57)

This week we review

Gigi has been sewing the Monkey night shirt, Butterick Patterns B4910 . Threading the bobbin correctly fixed the unbalanced thread .
